Associate Director, Institute for Sustainable Communities
Romit Sen is Associate Director at Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC). He leads ISC's Water Program and is responsible for overall strategy, execution and operations. He anchors ISC's engagement on the Women +Water Alliance, a programme to improve and sustain the health and well-being of women and communities touched by the apparel industry.
Prior to ISC, Romit was associated with the Rivers and Wetlands programme of WWF India where he worked on developing and executing projects on water stewardship for the Small and Medium Enterprise sectors across the Ganga and Ramganga, river basins.
Romit has 14 years of experience across development sector organizations, international NGOs and industry associations. He has been associated with organizations like Columbia Water Centre, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, WaterAid, Centre for Science and Environment and Development Alternatives.
Romit has authored several publications (books, reports, and papers) on various aspects of water resource management. He was a member of the Government of India’s Ministry of Water Resources Working Group on Enhancing Water Use Efficiency. Romit has a Masters in Natural Resources from TERI University and has a bachelor degree in Botany (Hons) from University of Delhi.
